Gary Coleman was famous for his cute chubby cheeks as one of the cast members, Arnold, on Different Strokes. His brother on the show was named Willis and whenever Willis would say something where Arnold would take exception to the information, he would puff up his cheeks, tighten his mouth, give a side look and exclaim “What You Talkin Bout Willis?” I gave myself the gift of unlimited workouts when I finished the 12 week Fit Mind, Fit Body program. For the month following the end of the program, I went to training 2 days a week and sometimes 3 days if I was in town on the weekends. I scrambled on Mondays and Wednesdays to get off of work and get to a 5:30 workout, then I would drag myself out the bed and to a 9:30 am work out on Saturdays. This was more than enough for me as becoming more mentally and physically fit has been a challenge. Each time I complete a work out and look back, I can only think of how far I have come. I relish in fact that in the month since the program ended I am down another 4.2 pounds for a total of 23.8 pounds since beginning. I am so very proud of myself for pushing through when I felt that I didn’t want to continue. I definitely have to give lots of credit to the lessons I learned and the tools I have in place when I get discouraged. I go back to what motivates me daily. I have started being aware of other fitness opportunities in addition to personal training. Wait! Did I just say “in addition to”?! In talking after a personal training workout, I mentioned that on the previous Monday, not only did I do a 5:30 personal training work out but went to a 7:15 class to support a girlfriend who is a fitness instructor. Man, was I tired after pushing myself that day. I thought, I must be crazy, what was I thinking. I casually shared what I did. After Shawnta Wright learned that information, I was challenged to keep that up for the entire month! So I puffed up my cheeks, tightened my mouth, gave a side look and said “What You Talkin’ ‘Bout Willis?!”. Let’s see how this goes. This is definitely the next level and I took up the challenge. Feel free to follow my progress and let me know what you do to continually challenge yourself in the area of fitness and workouts. I will need some pointers!
