Mindful Bodies offers both in-person and virtual Individual Mental Health Counseling Sessions & Gottman Couples Counseling Sessions for issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, sexual assault, domestic violence, couples & parenting concerns, identity development, stress management, work/life balance, LGBTQ+ concerns, etc. 
 
 
 
* Virtual Small Group Personal Training (SGPT) Sessions
The cost of SGPT is $10 per session or $40 at the beginning of the month for up to 2 SGPT sessions per week. Please contact Shawnta at 919-812-3172 or swright@mindfulbodies.net for more information on signing up for SGPT. The Zoom meeting number and password will be given to SGPT participants. 
 
SGPT sessions are 45 mins in length and the structure of the sessions is structured similarly to Mindful Bodies Intervals classes. We start with a 5 min cardio warm up & then do 2 rounds of core exercises for 1 minute of work and 30 seconds of active recovery, Then we transition to strength & cardio intervals for 40 seconds of work and 20 seconds of active recovery & end the session with light stretching.

The cost of Virtual Group fitness classes is $Free but donations are appreciated. Suggested donation is $5 and can be made on www.mindfulbodies.net website.

Mindful Bodies Virtual Class Formats:

Rhythm & Tone (R & T) consists of 30 mins of dance fitness & 15 minutes of toning exercises. You may incorporate dumbbell weights , exercise balls, resistance bands and other equipment into the toning portion of the class.
 
Intervals is a 30  minutes class where all major muscle groups are trained : chest, upper back, shoulders, legs part 1, legs part 2, biceps, triceps, the core & the heart  Each timed interval is performed for 40 seconds in length with a 20 second active recovery period. in between  the intervals. One muscle groups is trained (ie – the chest) for 40 seconds, then there is a 20 second active recovery period then a cardio interval is performed then a another muscle group and cardio, until the end of the class.

 Self Care Breaks are 15 mins in length & are fun or calming activities that are related to self care – examples, include but are not limited to, stretching, short comedy routines , poems, songs, & visualization activities.

Sessions are 30 mins in length, lead by mental health therapists on mental health topics, including but not limited to, depression, grief, anxiety, PTSD, general mental health & suicide prevention.

Mindful Bodies office will move our office on July 31, 2020, from Northgate Mall, where we have been located since Aug. 2013, to a new location. We will post information here on our website as soon as we have signed our new lease. 

General News: As of Jan 1, 2020, The North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors changed it’s name to North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors which means that Shawnta Wright, Mindful Bodies owner, and the other therapists who work at Mindful Bodies licenses now have a different name and we are now Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (LCMHC) instead of  Licensed Professional Counselors but we all do the same great work as we have always done. Fit Kids/Fit Teens (FK/FT)

Mindful Bodies offers the Fit Kids/ Fit Teens program which includes 5 class types (Fit Games, Fit Stations, Fit Drills, Zumba Kids & Kids Yoga). Please contact us if you need Fitness classes this summer at your summer camp, after-school program, day care, church program, birthday party, etc.

Fit Mind/Fit Body (FM/FB) Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) Weight Management Group

Our 12 week Fit Mind/ Fit Body (FM/FB) weight management In-Person group will be held, 2 or 3 times per year, on Mon nights from 7 – 8:30 pm for the Jan – March group, the April – June (not held every year), and the September – December group.  We can enroll new group members in group through the 3rd week of the group cycle. Make-up sessions will be offered, as needed, for missed sessions. More details about the FM/FB group are located on our mental health page of this website. Pre-registration & an intake session are required for group attendance so contact Shawnta Wright at 919-812-3172 for more information. We also offer individual FM/FB sessions if the group sessions won’t fit your schedule or needs.

We will hold FM/FB interest sessions on TBD.  Tickets to the interest sessions can be purchased for $0 =free on eventbrite.com. At the FM/FB interest sessions, facilitators will give an overview of the 12 weeks of FM/FB and will do some group member intake interviews onsite and will also schedule intake sessions for a later time.

Bulimia Nervosa (BN) & Binge Eating Disorder (BED) CBT Group

We will hold a 12 week Bulimia Nervosa (BN) & Binge Eating Disorder (BED) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) group on Tues nights from 6 – 7:30 pm on dates TBD. Make-Up sessions will be offered as needed, for missed sessions. More details about the BN & BED group are located on our mental health page of this website. Networking Events

Mindful Bodies hosts Mental Health Professionals & Graduate Students Networking & Self Care Events, 4 times per year (on a quarterly basis to coincide with NCBLCMHC 4 quarters of the year” Jan – March (Q1), April – June (Q2), July – Sept (Q3), Oct – Dec (Q4) at Mindful Bodies’ office. If our schedule allows, we will hold a 5th networking event = a Special Winter Holidays Networking & Potluck Meal in December. 

Please note that all mental health professionals are welcome to attend. The host of the networking meeting, Shawnta (pronounced Shawn Tay) Wright, is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor – Supervisor (LCMHC-S), who provides clinical supervision, via Webex video conferencing,  to associate level counselors. Shawnta started hosting the networking meetings so that her supervisees could network, in person, with each other and she decided to open the meetings to all mental health professionals. LCMHC-A Clinical Supervision 

Mindful Bodies, Shawnta (pronounced Shawn Tay) Wright is an LCMHC-S & she offers clinical supervision to LCMHC-As. The cost is $35 for 2 hr group supervision (3 – 12 supervisees ) & $50 for 1 hr individual supervision (1 or 2 supervisees) or supervisees can pay a set $125 monthly rate (on Jan 1, 2021, the monthly supervision rate will increase to $150) . NCBLCMHC states that 75% of LCMHC-A supervision must be individual (1 – 2 supervisees) and no more than 25% of supervision can be group supervision.
